| Blue Force Tracker System |
The Blue Force Tracking program was accomplished as part of the support contract with the Prototype Integration Facility located at Redstone Arsenal. This program required the complete design, fabrication, delivery, and testing of Blue Force Tracking kits on Army aircraft systems. It also required the installation of these kits in the field in Afghanistan and Iraq. The program involved other Government agencies and utilized multiple subcontractors and vendors. The Blue Force Tracker system transmits and receives situational awareness and command and control between the aircraft systems and the ground commanders. It displays air and ground location of all friendly forces on an electronic map in the host platform. The hardware developed at the PIF and in the SESI Huntsville Manufacturing Facility will provide the baseline for production of Blue Force Tracking kits.
