DESCRIPTION: The Electronic Data Manager (EDM) is a Windows 2000 based, light and portable touch screen computer in the form of a kneeboard that provides the aviator with a GPS moving map capability. The EDM enables the aircrew pilot to quickly plan mission changes while in flight. EDM hardware support includes the A-kit (UH-60, AH-64 A/D, OH-58, CH-47), which allows for aircraft installation, and the B-kit to also include the quick release harness(UH-60, AH-64 A/D, OH-58, CH-47), which allows for ground support and the Tactical Officer Operational Kit (TACOP) which allows the Tactical Communications Officer to Image multiple EDMs at one time. In addition to supporting PM AW SESI has also continued its quest to provide the Australian Defense Forces (ADF) and US Navy’s Aviation Program Manager for H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters (PMA261) in fulfilling their requirement to outfit their aircraft with the same technology used by the ARMY.
